Putting The game within a Game

Title.

This US Open Championship was meant to be the year for the ‘young-guns’ – Adam Scott, Trevor Immelman or Justin Rose. But it wasn’t – it wasn’t even the year for the experienced (read Vijay and Phil). And to top it off, those with two good knees couldn’t pull it off either.

The commentary preceding the 2nd Major of the year was ‘taunting’ Tiger if you think about it. Yes he’s the best in the world, but he’s been out for two months, he hasn’t prepared for the tournament, and his knee hasn’t recovered yet!

If he wins this one then, based on everything going against him, he really must be the best in the world. Monday was our proof, and most commentators (including Hank Haney, Tiger’s coach) are dubbing it Tiger’s greatest ever win.

Tiger now joins Jack Nicklaus as the only player to win each Major 3 or more times, and with 14 Majors in total under his belt, he’s got 4 to go in order to equal the record of Jack Nicklaus.

Now that the fun of the US Open is over, a few Tiger fans have spread concern over the future of a ‘beat-up’ knee that endured 91 holes. Knowing Tiger, I don’t think there’s anything to worry about.

I wouldn’t be surprised though if the next time we see Tiger is at The Open in July, and there’s little hope for the rest of the pack. No doubt, we’ll be betting on 2nd.

As a side note I have noticed a lot of players wearing the Galvin Green label, does anyone know much about this brand?
